1986 Cessna 210 for sale
I had a C55 Baron and a C310. Baron was faster, but I got fck’d twice by continentals. Focus on twins with lycomings.
Sorry dude just cringe comedy and barely any facts. I'm trying to actually learn something.
If you couldn't figure out the cost to own an rv10 from this video maybe learning isnt your strong suit. But you know, keep trying I guess
Get a C182 fixed gear, and you will have a much better experience owning your own aircraft. The Duke my company bought needed an engine right off the bat. The owners bought another “tired” Duke while it got repairs done. Part of their problem though was, they rushed into the purchase, and ignored our recommendation of a Baron 58.
Got to love retards
In case you're looking for inspiration on future "cost to own" vids (probably not, but the algorithm will appreciated the engagement I hope): how about "obscure eastern 4 seaters: Yak 18T vs Let Z-37 Čmelák" - you'll need the Bede BD 4's U.P.F.(Ugly Plane Filter) for the latter though.
Wow hold on just a sec, these numbers mean that even I with a decent job can own one of these and fly up to 50 - 100 hours a week pretty cheaply?!!! I am getting one now. I am going to be more serious about it. Thanks for the quick info mate! Absolute Legend!!
I seriously think you misunderstood something
My dad bought a barn find 41' coupe spent a summer with brother and I did a total rebuild of 5000$ Coupe was 1400$. great summer projecy great fun flying. Sorry forgot to say that was 1970.
1982 210N fully tricked out glass avionics refit, IFR, looks like an interior refresh, original fading paint but in decent shape, 967 HSMOH, 2960 TT. Wait for it.....$440 grand with a hundred bucks change back. There's a 1978 NM Turbo model I'd opt for though - despite higher TT hours (but only 220 HSMOH) - has very substantial avionics refit and a 2014 ext paint and interior refresh that all looks great - $325,000 - that sounds like a serious seller and a better value.
Agreed - the Cherokee is the Camry of general aviation.
Great analysis. Current Navajo owners should welcome any buyer who will take one off their hands for even pennies on the dollar. Otherwise, they will sit there and generate that forty grand a year in fixed cost as paper weights. The $420 hourly cost estimate could be light on the reserve side - it maybe covers the engine overhauls but what about all the other equipment overhauls and replacements....from landing gear to avionics? A variable run cost of about $500 is probably more realistic. Let's see what he says about the cost of a Seneca.
Why build a new plane that is a tail dragger its old design 🤷♂️🙆♂️😳
Because tailwheels are lighter and faster and more fun to fly then their tricycle gear counterparts. They are better suited for unimproved runways and in the case of kit planes, cost less to buy. And of course, you'd be lying to yourself if you thought they're not cooler.
Cessna all the way!!
I still say I'd rather do the avionics install in your Winter than the Texas summer. I can wear insulated coveralls in the Winter, but crawling around in a tail cone when it's 100+ ambient? I dunno, maybe we can say they're both "the suck" I guess.
Ya I don't know if I'd even say the cold was that bad. Tiny wires with gloves doesn't work well and the extra clothes didn't help the tight spaces. Otherwise it wasn't too bad. The lack of ppl stopping by was good for productivity.
@@CompleteWalkaround I'm considering going the homebuilt route with a helicopter once I get my add-on. I've been eyeballing the Safari 500; perfect puddle hopper for my personal needs. Then again, you never know how things go; I might end up buying something prebuilt instead.
@@shawnedwards5369 there's a safari in the hangar next to mine, not sure which one. It sees a lot of action. The builder also built a mosquito but didn't like that as much.
JEALOUS!
Id rather buy a Sea fury.
One of the best. Both the 337 and fixed gear 336.
Can you do a remake of this. I am looking at buying a plane to finish training but the info is so hard to come by it seems, at least reliable info
Apparently I AM on acid (now).
This voice sounds familiar! Is that you Trent?
This voice sounds familiar! Is this Trent?
Great work... But surprisingly there's a bit of a snag . Number two Il-2 was less built than number three Me-109?! 36,183 vs 36,853...
Great video as always! Would you consider doing a cost analysis on the Lake Buccaneer/Renegade?
Could you do a modern piper seminole? These 6 seater twins are a little too costly for me to operate. I still prefer the redundancy of a twin and the peace-of-mind of a newer aircraft. The seminole seems like a piper arrow, but with 2 weaker engines instead of 1 stronger one. I'd prefer the redundancy of 2 engines over water. Not able to decide if the seminole is the right aircraft to buy since its primarily a trainer, and there isnt many videos on it having private owners. I have 2 main questions - Whats its operating cost? Hows its single engine preformance? (Can you successfully return to an airport with a failed engine over water?)
Please do a video on a Sling 2. I saw the TSi video but I want to see how the Sling 2 compares!
Such a great video. Was looking at a RV-3 recently but the lack of good panel options swayed me towards the RV-6. Didn't realize it could be so clean and compact.
Amazing. ❤❤❤❤
Loved it! What about a video on a Stearman?
The winglets 😂
My old aerobat still has the antique clockwork gauges. It is the ugliest plane, but works good.
What's the difference between the hard/expensive ways that you described and slapping an iPad in there? Like does it work well enough to avoid all that cost and work?
I pad stuff has come a long way. No question. Especially when paired with something that gives it pitot static like the lvel Bom. No matter what you do though, iPads a gimic at best. I wouldnt go beyond day vfr with an iPad as a primary source of anything beyond a chart. (Even then 2 iPads are required to be legal as a chart.) So, if you're talking day vfr doesn't really matter what you have. Anything beyond a couple of steam gauges is superfluous.
How long would it take if you had all the stuff and basically did a speed run? I'm trying to imagine how it could possibly take multiple full 8-hour days of continuous tinkering.
Weeks. Maybe 2 months. For me in this plane anyway
@@CompleteWalkaround Ooof. Truly wish I had that level of DIY in me

Very nice upgrade, and described in a very well done video. Curious if you came out with an overall weight saving from the upgrade.
Would love to see the cost to own a DA 42 VI!
Fun fact, if you make friends with an A&P and have him "help" you, you can also DIY on your certified plane
Thats a beautiful panel in a RV-3! Or any aircraft! Great job sir!!
Just when I think you couldn't get any cooler, you go and do this! Much respect!
At this point, I can't imaging venturing into IMC without glass panel instruments. Too many stories of vacuum pumps failing, and disaster following shortly. Plus every time my instructor pulled that one on me in the sim, I crashed!
Bravo! Glad to see I'm not the only one that desires to avoid dealing with the dark overseers of the evil empire, Garmin. GRT in the past three RV builds and planning on Dynon in my current HRII build.
I am a new plane owner as well and upgraded the avionics in my Grob 109B Motor glider from a basic radio and transponder to a better radio and ADS-B in and out with an IPad EFB. It's made a huge upgrade in safety for me. While I still fly with the pneumatic gauges having a backup GPS AHRS is helpful. I love this content and glad the upgrade in your plane is behind you. Fly safe and I am looking forward to more complete walkaround videos.
Hey Brian, Thanks and congrats on the purchase.
Muito bacana!
Looks fantastic ! did you need a avionics mechanic to over see or sign off your work ?
Thanks. Didn't need anyone to do anything
"owned by blackrock" means you own it through the etfs in your retirement account. along with vanguard the other major etf company their combined "ownership" is the managed funds of just about every Americans squired away money that will eventually and hopefully cover every americans personal expences for many years. when you think about it that ownership is kinda small. the combined retirement resources of every working stiff in this country properly diversified only comes out to 8% of garmin, like who ownes the rest.
Wow! It's so impressive. All of the days in the cold hanger during our cold Canadian winter has paid off for you. Congratulations ... great job!
Nice build
